So the research wave is on, from 2008 when GHRS, Delhi and Jinesh, Mumbai started it all(more than 2 years now) with interfacing college students for getting project works/plays/debates done on our subjects of interest.
We now just need to make a clear strategy on how to sustain and increase the drive for more research in the topics of our interest. Our next goal should be to introduce a course on men’s welfare an issues(you all may remember that in USA the first department of male studies came in to being about an year back under the aegis of Foundation for Male Studies- http://www.malestudies.org/, starting with an international conference plus a webinar event(in OCTOBER 2009) which was attended by interested/concerned people all over the world physically, and also by logging in through the net for the webinar option)
Check out these links to see how much the rest of the world has advanced in the field of male(Men + Boys issues) studies- http://www.google.co.in/search?sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=male+studies+university
http://www.malestudies.org/events.html – They are going to have the Second Annual(international) conference on Male studies on April 6th, 2011, At the New York Academy of Medicine – we should be a part of it in someway or the other(last time I had registered for the webinar, but could not log in due to some other commitments)
But while concentrating on the research wave, please do not under-estimate the importance of a literary wave, this is the same wave which prepared the ground in in the 70s and 80s for the introduction of one-sided laws for women, and these very techniques will give us the leverage to bring back to a balance.
